“besides Microsoft”

Well. If you give humans no instructions and play Minecraft without any hints, they probably would do what the AI agents did. Humans, though, realize the game is artificial and has nothing to do with real life... therefore, they go onto Discord, watch Youtube channels, and read about the artificial game rules imposed by Minecraft. They would prioritize building a shelter (from zombies-skeletons at night) and building an underground well-lit farm. Minecraft's says crops can grow underground from torches that stay lit forever and that you can create a never-ending source of water by making a 2x2 well and pouring water into it. In other words, the AI Agents would have played better if they were told to go read some strategy articles about surviving the first few days at Minecraft.

The article said GPT won most games but the kill counts were heavily in favor of Claude. That is Claude rationally behaved based on the immediate evidence it saw. GPT won, I assume, because its meta instructions told it to always assume games like these have a "back door" or glitch that allows for a devastating sneak attack. In this case, ender pearl to the bottom of the world floor and stacking blocks to elevator up and attack the bed from beneath.

It is more of what do the corporations believe. As far as I can tell, Open AI is positioning itself as the replacement for knowledge worker office suite software. Enter your data once and ChatGPT AI agents can walk, transform, and shepherd it through your entire business life cycle.

Microsoft is doing its usual schizo strategy. It thinks it’s a tech pioneer software company, an enterprise software company, a game development company, an online services company, ad infinity.

My take is that yes, AI agents, will be one day be the way companies run their operations. When does this happen? Probably long after I am retired.

Not a theologian. My understanding is that during Jesus' time on Earth, the Jews were under the heavy yoke of the Romans. At that time, there were many Jewish sects who all claimed secret knowledge and were led by a "messiah" who would deliver the Jews from the Romans and re-establish Judah as a military-political power. The Anti-Christ as mentioned in Revelations and in Catholic texts were a warning to Christians. Christians should not be led astray by demagogues who preached salvation by political or military means. Instead, for Christians, salvation lay in Christ's commandments to love God, love neighbor, and love like he loved us.

A couple of times in my career, I was one of those who were not given out a buyout. I was chosen to keep the lights on while the number of employees shrank every month. It sucked. I was given responsibility for systems with no documentation or than a username/password. I was called by all sorts of people I had never spoken to who had their hair on fire because the system was breaking left and right. I wished I was given the buyout; instead I was told I should be grateful I had a paycheck. No thanks.

With ChatGPT, I notice it tends to use abstract subjects. E.g., ChatGPT wrote "Texas allows treated sewage sludge to be used as agricultural fertilizer, yet the proposed law requiring routine PFAS testing failed to advance". I would have written "Texas allows treated sewage sludge to be used as agricultural fertilizer, yet the state failed to advance the proposed law requiring routine PFAS testing".

No matter how many times, I ask it to avoid fluff; it keeps writing it. E.g., Please avoid fluff sentences like "This is where the story gets more interesting." and "Here is how the evidence compares." They are not needed and serve no purpose.

I also notice its sentences do not provide a clear sense of who did what. E.g., it wrote "According to pilgrimage organizer Christian Marquant, Bishop Schneider met with Pope Leo in December 2025 and discussed the traditional Latin Mass." I would have wrote "According to pilgrimage organizer Christian Marquant, Bishop Schneider discussed the traditional Latin Mass with Pope Leo on December 2025." The phrase "met with" was extraneous and made it seem like the meeting was by accident.

Meanwhile, Cash App who facilitated the scam and actually cost the buyer actual money... walks away with no repercussions. There is something horribly broken when tech companies who are ruining people's lives have zero responsibility but are making money in the process.

I have two Sony Bravias. They are older LCD with souped up panels. I have been eyeing the micro-leds but can’t justify buying it when the other two are still going strong.

One of the three biggest festivals in Japan. Skip to the 50 minute mark to watch them raise the lanterns.
