The article said GPT won most games but the kill counts were heavily in favor of Claude. That is Claude rationally behaved based on the immediate evidence it saw. GPT won, I assume, because its meta instructions told it to always assume games like these have a "back door" or glitch that allows for a devastating sneak attack.
