Please think further than just the passion of code, mind implication of your projects and what you work on, in particular in regards to climate change and energy crisis. Coding, like any other form of engineering, cannot be done just for self interest and without ethics or conscience.

UberEats uses Tiktok ads to promote their product, this is used to track conversions.

I missed the part where this is shocking.

I wouldn't pay anything if I were this guy.

He has the advantage of holding the balance in his account, and this matter doesn't stick in front of any court. So good luck to QAW to see the color of this money.

I ran a website for youngsters several years ago. One of the duties to maintain it was to moderate discussion boards. Some kids were difficult to manage and would not accept to be banned (via email/IP/or whatever solution) and would keep recreating profiles.

Ultimately I dealt with those ppl by “greylisting” them. Added a sleep() prior each page rendering of 5 to 25 secs (actually it was more sophisticated and would stream chunks over TCP so the slowness feeling was even more real).

Worked like a charm. Few days after the recalcitrant would no longer come on the website.

I called this “moderation by degradation of user experience”, and was pretty effective like the solution described in your post.

Think about page load if you need to restrain visits.

This guy is a total genius. Shame he doesn't care more about who he is working for and what his researches are used for.

This is not even close to bretonne crêpes.

Either you use buckwheat floor and water, in which case you are making Galettes. Either you use plain white wheat floor, in which case it's crêpes you are doing.

Under no circumstances you can put sugar in it, it's only added at the end. And of course, it's missing the most important ingredient: butter. #notevenclose
