The obvious downside is that all the UI elements are unnecessarily big for all the people not using touch.

> Fun fact: the laptop in this size/performance class with the best battery life is a Windows Intel Core Ultra Series 3 laptop, not a MacBook Pro!

Source for that fun fact?

Do you have an example application that does that? Used such Mouse a long time on Windows and now on Mac but never experienced that.

No, we do not use SSO

Also works for me on macOS. I exclusively use Outlook in Firefox.

If it’s auto-hide what’s the point of moving it to the side?

But it can only write the code as bad as the framework allows and React allows a lot of bad code.

A good reason to use svelte instead of React is performance. LLMs not only got us more convenient development but also users that use their hardware for longer since the prices are so high.

Not a problem, I don’t use Apple Notes on my Mac.

> Change how you like your day to day workflows in terms of window management

Not a problem, I can just customize my hammerspoon config to behave differently

> Share a home made app with some friends without helping them install it

That depends more on what my friends are using than what I use. Me using Linux wouldn’t make it any easier if they are using Windows or macOS.

> Fix a bug in the vendors software by writing a patch

Not being able to fix a bug in an OS doesn’t lock me into that OS. And there are bugs in any Linux distribution that are way too complex to fix even if theoretically possible. So it doesn’t make any difference.

A MacBook is pretty much locked to macOS even if it’s theoretically possible to boot a different OS but that doesn’t make me locked into macOS. I can sell my MacBook for a very reasonable price and buy whatever I want.

I think it’s because Apples fiscal year does start in October, so iOS 27 is basically released when Apple does start their fiscal year 2027.
