An interactive map of every loan the SBA approved under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP Loans) during COVID — 11.8M loans, ~$800B. Best viewed on your desktop.

Posted an earlier version of this a year ago (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42969334) and got a lot of useful feedback. This is a rewrite focused on the biggest complaint from that version: you used to have to type in a ZIP code to see anything, which made the dataset feel like a lookup tool instead of something you could explore.

The map is the primary surface now. Pan and zoom and the data loads under you — clustered pins at low zoom, individual loans as you zoom in. Search works for ZIP, business name, and state; NAICS code, loan amount, year, and forgiveness status are filters on top of whatever you're looking at.

Local marketing? idk, just thought it was neat to put it on a map. I find it interesting to see the businesses that people in my neighborhood are running

Hi, thanks for checking it out and leaving some great ideas. A graph comparing with two strategies and seeing which was more effective given a certain starting date would help people see your point.

This is awesome! - just signed up to get A Tale of Two Cities (want to see what all the hype is about)

I have a google scripts that set up to email myself my personal goals in the morning, and now I want to set up an application to let other people create 'SMART goals' and set up a recurring email similar to how you it set up for Daily Read.

Do you have a blog or some content on how you went about setting this up? I'm stuck on figuring out how to let each user schedule their emails - willing to compensate you for your help! (azum61)
