Good, sticking to design conventions of the OS may not be a good fit for the specific software (e.g. think about a video editor). And even in more-tame cases, people have different aesthetic preferences (e.g. a minimalist text editor).
My software, a video browser / organizer, looks better than anything I've come across (for my preferences). For example, sticking to OS conventions would have required more padding around everything, decreasing functionality - https://videohubapp.com

There is literally concerns over mirror life being developed. The point is that if a system that has high reasoning capacity to solve logistical and mathematical problems, it may be able to come up with a mechanism you, puny-to-it-human, may not be able to predict. It may use technology not yet known to humans (one that it has designed itself), or may use already known technology, but figure out how to scale it up enough to cause earth-wide disaster for humans.
When I purchased the ticket I was offered an English version of the history of bikes presentation in the main hall. I politely declined, but was later politely approached with a piece of paper handwritten with a time the English version would play. I attended and was so glad I did. It was a beautifully presented showcase of bikes across history (with individual bikes in the room being thoughtfully-timely lit up as the video described them).
Really worth going. And I super love Japan and the way I've been treated wherever I went. I've been to Japan about a dozen times now over the last 20 years - it's my favorite place to be.

So far read about 20%, seems like a lovely theory tying together a lot about how the mind works.
