Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds, --and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of...

Do I understand correctly that Kagan has been working on his part for (more than) 40 years?

Do you live in the houses that you flip? I don't think that this is a pattern I see around me.

I would assume that you're almost guaranteed to commute when you work as a builder. No WFH option either.

I always wonder who the right audience is for this type of virtual environment for online meetings. And I am seriously curious because I am probably too old to relate to younger professionals these days, so I may be missing something that other may find fun.

I think it gets worse during their early teens when most of the socializing these days seems to be phone/app-driven. I hope they'll keep the habit going.

Hah! I'm usually guilty of not reading the (entire) article before coming here to read the comments, which usually give me a good indication if the article is worth reading. But this time I read it all before coming here because like so many of the people here, it's hitting too close to home at many levels.

First of all, I've only heard this from software engineers.

Second of all, most of us haven't worked on the software that send people to space or similar. We unfortunately only move data from one place to another.

People wrote production code after 6-months of boot camp. Writing code is easy. (Quality, scalability etc. are the harder parts).

Part of this is captured with this famous quote:

"The best minds of my generation are thinking about how to make people click ads." - Jeff Hammerbacher

So the insult is probably to a negligible fraction of programmers.

No kidding! Looking at that picture, I would be beyond worried if that was my tap water.

I love Woody Allen's speed reading joke:

> "I took a speed-reading course and read War and Peace in twenty minutes. It involves Russia."
