Hi Sam,

I've heard you mention a few great things about University of Waterloo (They even have you in a video on their Engineering channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQz5hj8y1TE).

Waterloo has such a vibrant startup scene and several groups from the region have gone through YCombinator.

When is the next time you are coming to visit Waterloo?

This was a great write up - thanks! Taking the leap is especially scary, particularly when I've got a mortgage and so many bills. I hope to make it one day.

At 50 dollars I would have been in right away. Too bad I missed out.

Me too.

To the author: thanks for writing this blog post. It's always interesting to hear someone's perspective on the topic. I've been mulling over this for a while...

I agree the co-op system is one of UWaterloo's greatest advantages. Not only do students earn money to pay tuition, they get work experience at global tech companies (Microsoft, RIM, Amazon, Qualcomm, Nvidia). Many undergrads graduate with an offer from one of the companies where they interned.
