Start monthly plans... so we can pay _more_? Lol. I've moved >80% of my daily coding usage to deepseek-flash, and at their current token pricing it's effectively free. Any monthly plan would almost certainly increase the cost.

They use your data for training though. Mostly I'm fine with that, but you do need to be mindful of what traffic you send their way.

> basically the same things that Tramp could do as well?

Yes, just much faster. At the cost of a proprietary binary blob on the remote end, whereas tramp works with bare sh/bash.

However there's now tramp-rpc, which is tramp but talks to a Rust client on the remote side, and that makes Emacs even faster than vscode-over-ssh.

Probably none because they didn't update to the exact version that had the bug

It's unfortunately far, far more true than whatever lead Meta still has over Apple on the VR headset side.

Also it's not just the chip itself, but moreso the whole hardware-sofrware vertical integration. Despite being a decade-long Apple-hater, ever since I got an M2 max macbook from work I simply have never touched my Windows/Linux Thinkpads again. The difference in user experience isn't even on a generational level, but more of a I-can't-imagine-how-Apple's-competitors-can-begin-to-close-this-gap level. Sadly I think all this talk of Quest-vs-AVP war is just an illusion, the outcome is very much preordained at this point.

Yeah that's a common statistical fallacy -- if your goal is to predict the likelihood of AGI becoming a reality in a few centuries, what you really want is "of all the things medieval farmers thought would happen, how many ended up actually happening", not "of all the things that happened, how many did medieval farmers think of" While I don't have the exact numbers, if you used the correct formula, you'll find that P(AGI happening in a few centuries) to be in the range of "pretty friggin low"

Yes, money is money, what does it matter if it comes from paying customers or investors?

Kudos for the correction, but you should really put this, by far the most important context, in your original post.

You said:

What you're implying is that there is some moral justification to invading Ukraine if the goal is to eliminate the Nazi Azov battalion. That is false -- there is no justification at all. The reason is that if you applied this standard equally to all countries (i.e. "if x% of population is Nazi, then invade"), then you could invade 90%+(just to be conservative) of the countries in the world: how many people are there in the Azov battalion? 2k? 3k? 5k? Ukraine has a population of 44 million. How many Nazis are there in the United States? How many Nazis are there in Germany? How many Nazis are there in Mongolia? And how many Nazis are there in Russia itself? If you're not planning to "de-naizify" all of them, then "de-nazification" is but a meaningless excuse to your invasion, aka -- propaganda.

So then why are Facebook/Youtube getting criticized for not censoring the New Zealand shooter broadcast fast enough?

Because not having Play Store != not running Android apps. People's games and other apps still need Android to run. A non-Android Wechat phone would fail for the same reason Windows phones did -- no apps.
