If I may: let's ignore the timeline entirely.

If you want to sample the Zelda series, I'd propose:

- Link's Awakening for the 2d experience

- Ocarina of Time for the 3d experience

- Breath of the Wild for the open world experience

as a starting point. The remakes are all new, so you get some QoL.

yeah it is, I'm wondering why not just incorporate in one single number

maybe to say something like "under 0.6 confidence, reject the answer anyway"

How would that work? "pick which button to press"?

but the decisions are stateless... or you plan on passing the last N frames?

also curious on the practical use of the confidence score.

e.g. why return

      "probabilities": [
        { "value": "billing", "probability": 0.95 },
        { "value": "technical", "probability": 0.02 },
        { "value": "shipping", "probability": 0.01 },
        { "value": "other", "probability": 0.02 }
      ],
      "confidence": 0.93

and not

      "probabilities": [
        { "value": "billing", "probability": 0.90 },
        { "value": "technical", "probability": 0.04 },
        { "value": "shipping", "probability": 0.03 },
        { "value": "other", "probability": 0.04 }
      ],

(p' = 0.93 * p + 0.07 * 1/4)

?

20 years ago I read a The Guardian article about the "top geek novels". I immediately read a bunch of those.

Recently I managed to find the list again, and it's been endless pleasure:

- American Gods -- Neil Gaiman

- Brave New World -- Aldous Huxley

- The Colour of Magic -- Terry Pratchett

- Consider Phlebas -- Iain M Banks

- Cryptonomicon -- Neal Stephenson

- Cloud Atlas -- David Mitchell

- The Diamond Age -- Neal Stephenson

- The Dispossessed -- Ursula K Le Guin

- Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? -- Philip Dick

- Dune -- Frank Herbert

- Foundation -- Isaac Asimov

- Giles Goat-Boy -- John Barth

- Gravity's Rainbow -- Thomas Pynchon

- The HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy -- Douglas Adams

- I, Robot -- Isaac Asimov

- The Illuminatus! Trilogy -- Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson

- The Left Hand of Darkness -- Ursula K Le Guin

- The Man in the High Castle -- Philip K Dick

- Microserfs -- Douglas Coupland

- Neuromancer -- William Gibson

- Nineteen Eighty-Four -- George Orwell

- Orlando -- Virgina Woolf

- The Shockwave Rider -- John Brunner

- Snow Crash -- Neal Stephenson

- Stand on Zanzibar -- John Brunner

- Stranger in a Strange Land -- Robert Heinlein

- Trouble with lichen - John Wyndham

- UBIK -- Philip Dick

- Watchmen -- Alan Moore & Dave Gibbons

- Woman on the Edge of Time -- Marge Piercy

(I am creatively interpreting "The Colour of Magic" as "all Discworld", "Dune" as "the six Dune books", etc.)

I was gonna write "Implement the three laws of robotics", but then I remembered that the point of the short stories is that there are a number of loopholes...
