I've also experienced numerous thermal issues with Dell XPS'es (keyboard de-gluing and popping up, for instance). Hope their laptops are better now, but I wouldn't vouch for them.

near.ai tries to solve this

Yes, the article lost a significant amount of credibility right from the start by bringing up Durov and his well-known, ongoing rivalry with WhatsApp.

Telegram is a much worse messenger when it comes to E2E encryption and default settings.

use IMAP and your fav. e-mail client. Gmail's UI has sucked for ages. Totally unusable for pro users.

they are not. their design is done well to make it hard to circumvent the light.

yeah, I've tried their 24" 4k monitor, was okay, but not great, so returned. 24" is the max size I can tolerate with short-sightedness, but avoid using glasses for the monitor.

yeah.. nice to look up yourself on many of those filez =)

"There is online booking system, but it never shows any available slots. But then there are few companies that for 50-100 euros can get an appointment." ^^^ shouldn't complain about this on Hacker News. I wrote my own bot and it took a day or so. The appointment slot came in in 30 minutes thereafter ;)

Another substitute joins unhealthy Aspartame ranks!

Ban sweeteners which are just destroying taste of everything and bring back natural sugars, focus on teaching for responsible consumption.

"The sale was rushed through ahead of a rise in the UK’s stamp duty surcharge for overseas buyers"..

really? A billionaire can't afford UK's stamp duty??

He has his own agenda. And probably asked ChatGPT to refine the text. It's quite dull. Also with constantly pushing Telegram as "secure" messenger (and belittling competitors for "innovating" less), for me Durov is just a clear-cut hypocrite (and a wannabe who enjoys running sticker sale campaigns more than addressing real issues - not just talking about them when he got affected). Not a person I'd trust.

yeah.. and I am buying $2k unopened on eBay to keep for the future, if my current one is lost.

Gmail and other consumer services have deliberately dumbed down e-mail experience. No proper quoting, threads by default (instead of single one by one emails), hidden text, subjects. Consumers were not educated to clean unneeded chunks, instead they're just responding above the fold, creating a mess of a read. I still can't stand long unedited emails, recalling old years of FidoNet and GoldEd mail editor - how clean and neat it was, when every Kb was counted! Still cleaning all my in/out emails and hate to text-encode large attachments.

Same with OpenAI / ChatGPT. Thieves.
