> A further concern is Cloudflare’s implementation of Encrypted Client Hello (ECH). ECH is a privacy-enhancing TLS extension that encrypts the Server Name Indication, meaning that intermediaries may see that a user is connecting to Cloudflare but not which Cloudflare-hosted website is being accessed. IFPI’s technical analysis found that, in Cloudflare’s implementation, the visible SNI may show a public-facing Cloudflare hostname rather than the actual target website. Cloudflare now enables ECH by default on Free zones, increasing its relevance to copyright enforcement.
Horrifying thoughts.
Meanwhile, the rest of us still have work to do and can't spend all day arguing with strangers on the internet. Not all even speak English at all.
Did we read the same news story? If a bunch of confused Finnish drunks dragged from the nearest watering hole showed up at the polling station, and took orders from a priest of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland on who to vote for, there should be a huge outcry and for good reason. It would be front page news on every paper in Finland.
On the other hand, if said Finnish-Swedes came to cast a vote out of their own free will and personal political conclusions, that is entirely different. What they write on the ballot [1] in the privacy of the voting booth is their business only. Are we really supposed to pretend these two scenarios are the same?
