> I hate that you are right about this :-)

I love this. Many ADs are blockable because they don't care adblocker.

If everybody use an Adblocker, they will come up with something even harder to block. This is engineering time arm race.

What does "keep a strangle hold on the render engine ecology" even meant?

Does "make Firefox compatible with more web site" make chrome stronger?

A thought experiment: if Firefox can use all chrome extension, does this make chrome stronger? I guess yes, right? What makes a website different from extension?

[ I am trying to show the "chrome ecology" argument is ridiculous, not saying we show stop supporting website ]

Replicating superconductor experiment gives you the conductor and the skill.

Both of them are useful as is.

Replicating a social experiment, when successful, don't give you anything new.

Everytime I look at fedora, I think "are those GNOME guys retarded?" Linux would be much better if fedora never exist

> Removing CLI tools over the years would be one way

They are avoiding GPL3 licensed software and some GPL2 software are getting outdated.

That's why they didn't upgrade bash3 to bash4 , and replaced rsync with openrsync

In any case, blindly apply upscaling is just wrong ..

You apply it to where it is needed. Not every scene need the same treatment.

> When it happens only a few times, it might be neglect. This is absolutely by design.

Not sure if I want to call it by design.

It is not a dark pattern, it is just "what is the minimum we can do to sell this without doing the curation work?"

Kind of. That took hours of not days.

A local exact replica with deterministic state save lots of time.

The contact page on the left is something I absolutely hate. If the prefer method of contact is email, just give me an email. If they need to enter that into some ticketing system, give me access to the ticketing system. The page on right give me some ideas how they handle things internally.

The form on left is almost certainly a webform-to-email, this is ridiculous.

looking at font choice, how ironic they are complaining about UX

Honestly, firmware is usually where we find the worse kind of bugs.

You are confused. There are no "partial boot". This is fully booted in "before first unlock" state. Apple's public document always call it that way.

Some WiFi password and Bluetooth keyboard pairing are in nvram.
