Great LLM impression! ChatGPT said nearly the same thing to me the other day, and it was quite annoying. This isn’t annoying exactly. What would you call it? Let’s delve. Shall we delve?

There is an iOS/watchOS metronome app literally called “Pulse” that provides haptic feedback. That might get you part of the way there

Edit: removed unreasonable tirade

Ube has been an increasingly trendy/popular flavor for all sorts of dessert food in America; this is perhaps most evident if you visit Hawaii, but it can also be found in pretty much any bubble tea shop as a flavor option. ubaehawaii makes an ube crinkle cookie that is as delicious as it is purple. I’m not affiliated or anything, just a fan of good cookies (and ube!)

Yes! Absolutely! I’ve wanted a Polynesian voyaging game for ages, and I’ve always imagined the navigation would be integral, as it was sometimes more impressive than the actual journey IMO

Apologies, forgot to add the [2000] tag. Cannot edit. I posted this because it feels relevant to our current situation with AI. For what it’s worth, I work in an agriculture-adjacent field and nothing in the linked article seems overblown. If anything, the author was optimistic in some respects.

Hi there! I just wanted to let you know that I read the blog posts, and membrane sounds extremely cool. Ambitious, though. If you don’t mind a small bit of feedback: it would be encouraging to potential users or testers to see some semi-regular posts related to development. It would also be great to see how membrane might work to build a tool using current APIs. I know there is video forthcoming, and perhaps this will be addressed. I didn’t look at the GitHub, where I probably could glean some additional info. But from my perspective, a development blog builds trust and anticipation. It’s also a great way to check your assumptions (or have them checked, rather).

Good luck with the project. I hope it delivers, because I’d love to use it. Signed up for the mailing list.

You’re actually getting at some of the issues the article explores. The case studies are there to illustrate; they’re not the central point. I almost dismissed the piece based on the headline, but I’m glad I didn’t. You might find it unexpectedly interesting too. If I misjudged whether or not you read the OP, my sincere apologies. No harm intended.

Thanks for that slide deck! Many treasures to be found within.

I believe this was used by Charlie Brooker to build that interactive episode of “Black Mirror”.

Me too, it’s the most low-key killer feature of the OS imo. I use it automatically just to check my assumptions most most of the time; it’s just so easy and easily ingrained.
