That makes sense, anthropic is in a rapidly changing market. Revenue could crater if a better model is released by a competitor. AI demand could fall behind. Doesn't seem like that will happen, but its definitely not investment-grade debt worthy either.

It's a weird story. There must have been dozens of approvals by the government for this project.

no point in upgrading from m3 max atm. (it seems)

well at the very least it will encourage anthropic to launch their new opus

Fascinating. We used to use it quite a bit. But nowadays its just claude + skills.

Weird that vendors have this whole process that you have to fill in for new campaigns, yet somehow i still get spam all the time.

Remote with that timezone difference seems tricky to find something. Maybe consider starting something on your own? Pro: You can be remote, and dont need to apply, also uncapped upside. Con: It's hard.

I've met a guy who went from software into being a sherpa. Taking people up the mountain for hikes. Kinda fascinating.

But this post is not representative of the state of the market. The market for tech talent is still very hard/scarce. Finding good people is very difficult. You can validate that by seeing the trend of software salaries. It's not coming down.

I don't know why people are downvoting this. It depends on what you're building.

AI build me a cost overview of xyz: works perfectly without ever looking at the code

AI build me unreal engine 5 level graphics, or a database, or infra at high scale: this will need some active steering for now :)

It is very possible to use these tools in the wrong way. Companies that understand how to use AI will do better, those that have these 4 problems won't.

- AI should accelerate your understanding of the codebase and technical concepts. - Skills should ensure a higher quality of code than you could create without AI - Engineers should stay responsible for the code they product. - The available time freed up should be used for communication, product and marketing research. The definition of an engineer who just writes code is something that's going away.

Unless something is so simple that the AI can run it autonomously. There are actually many projects like that these days. And in those cases not looking at the code like DHH does is also a viable strategy.

AI has some of the craziest up and down cycles of tech I've ever seen

Definitely looking at using them, you do wonder if such narrow focus is defensible as a business? Probably not.

MongoDB does seem to be in a rough spot. Their pitch is an easier to get started with database, which longer term gives you problems and higher costs. And since we all have AI agents, why would you select that for any use case?

This post is just AI slop. The details of these contracts aren't disclosed as far as I know.

You need to understand the contracts, the acceleration of demand, how the various inputs into supply scale (energy, chips, data centers) etc to say something sensible about this.
