I used to have a stack of books with references notes on my desk. The internet came and I could search and even stack-overflow improved this. Doing a whiteboard riddle from rote knowledge is something I always fail. That particular solution I maybe used it once or twice in my 30 years as SWE. Why would I remember this. I do remember where I can find the solution for it.

Writing my own harness with the workflow I prefer. I pull jira tasks in local task manager(aven). My harness will oneshot it or create a spec plan with multiple linked tasks. Implement it with creating git worktree, task by task, codereview with 2 different reviewers, PRs it, reviews peoples comments replies or fixes and check sonarqube and fix if needed.

Manual tests in my minikube and has skills to deploy the right service there. It updates the jira ticket with test proof.

For debugging flows I build skills to use my local minikube that has our full dev environment and all services running. Can debug there. It has grafana skills for gcx can grab logs and through grafana even accesss dev/staging db for quering.

I wrote all the extensions with these custom integrations. It works just like I would work... I don't like adapting myself to another opinionated harness. I prefer my own opinionated workflows.

My team runs OpenCode, Pi, and Copilot — three different folder structures, three different YAML headers, three different everything. If you've felt that pain, this one's for you. A rant about lock-in, dead frameworks, and the enshittification of agentic tooling.

Love story for keeping AI frameworks minimal and sing praise to Pi Agent. While giving a few samples why.

The last two companies I worked for had UI/UX teams with knowledgeable directors. It is not dead; it is just that some people don't see the ROI in it.

That is a bit how the Germans did all the nice things during WW2. Just remove personal integrity and go along with the flow.

In my home country, we have a saying: "No religion or politics in the bar." People who drink alcohol best avoid these as you end up in a fight sooner or later.

We also do this at work. I am here to do a job. Just keep it focused on the professional side. I don't need to be your best friend. Or share the same religion or political beliefs. At work, I come together to reach a common goal.

But that said, I hate people enforcing diversity for diversity's sake. They are actually introducing politics on the work floor.

I installed a FTP server on the professors computer. It automatically shared your network disk once you logged in. All the COBOL assignments and solutions where there. Juvenile but hey....
