Cue Cave Johnson: “The bean counters told me we literally could not afford to buy seven dollars worth of moon rocks, much less seventy million. Bought 'em anyway. Ground 'em up, mixed em into a gel. And guess what? Ground up moon rocks are pure poison. I am deathly ill.”

> Astronauts would never be as stupid as they're depicted in that film, things like "oh gee I think I'll take my helmet off around all this potential biohazard."

My head-canon explanation for this is that a good portion of the crew specifically were not astronauts -- they were experts in their field (geology, anthropology, etc.). And true-to-form, they were dismissive of other experts telling them NO, NO DO NOT REMOVE YOUR HELMET. And once the first few were exposed the others decided well, if there's a problem with it we're already screwed anyway.

This is me. High Life is now my go-to. I guess the hop-bombs and the trending flavor-blast-du-jour that craft beer descended into just wore me out. And $0.50/can vs $2.50/can sure doesn't hurt.

I know that there is already a reply to this effect, but to repeat YOU CANNOT TURN OFF SMART HDR ON NEW IPHONES. Astonishingly stupid.

Nah, that's just a "too many connections hug" costume that the server is wearing.

This is entirely new to me, but the impression I have is that it's _somewhat_ about the awkwardness but _way more_ about the extreme specificity. My Seinfeld neurons are firing like mad in sympathetic response.

Sure depends upon the side effect we didn't understand, doesn't it?
