Shouldn't we rather celebrate the GA of Windows NT4 Workstation on August 24, 1996? It was 30 years ago and an amazing OS that at least for some tasks made me switch back from SuSe Linux.

Usually ~1%. Some direct cashback, some via rewards points (e.g. 1.5 AMEX MRP earned per EUR are roughly worth 1ct).

Hard to believe nowadays but Gemini Flash 3 was $0.25 / 1M input and $1.50 / 1M output when it was released.

As others have said, these were uninformed guesses which LLMs seem still to be willing to hand out deliberately. If you provide more information (your schemas, the distribution of values in your database tables, the EXPLAIN ANALYZE outputs, DB configuration etc.) it will do a much better job.

Wasn't that acquisition announced in December 2025 and closed in March 2026? Hard to imagine it created a sudden spike in the share price only in late May.

Flat compared to 2 months ago. Chart looks like a pump-and-dump. 50% up and back. Is there any precedence in history for a swing like this over a two month period for the IBM stock?

It's the continuation of a process that is going on for 25-30 years. As others have noted, Germany's industrial base is eroding due to high energy costs and Chinese competition. Its political decisions over the last two decades have been questionable, accelerating the decline and any true reform is unlikely to get a majority in the current gerontocratic society. There is no need to attribute this to malice, I think it can adequately be explained by incompetence.

Why would it need to be safe for "hundreds of thousands of years" in the first place? Do we not think we would find some other use of nuclear waste within the next decades/centuries, and if not, just send it to space?

Can anyone explain how search revenue is still _growing_ in the age of LLMs?

Doom was released end of '93. In 1992 most of us were in the 286 -> 386 upgrade wave and a 486-33 was easily at $2.5k+ ($5.5k in today's terms). The 486 DX2 66 was a good choice even 1994-1996.

There surely must be some BBS backup tapes somewhere that at least contain some of the boards?

Has anyone captured a Fidonet forum archive anywhere or is this form of human communication forever lost?

Problem is: this list gets shorter every year, without any new additions in the recent decades (!)
