To be clear, I’m not saying we should be complacent and I fully support adding whatever guardrails we can (while we still can). My skepticism comes from the administration telling frontier model providers to police themselves and the sheer amount of capital involved. This never ends well.

Let’s just get comfortable that these kind of incidents are going to be commonplace. Kudos to the people sounding the alarms but I can’t help but feel skeptical about the ability to keep the rogue entities contained.

With the battle of AI versus human agency raging I have a prediction that local-first desktop apps are going to make a comeback. It's nice to see something like this make it easier.

Very cool!

I can't help wonder what this would look like for humans. Imagine, set one of these up at a party and it has the means to identify anyone on the invite list. When it hears the person it displays a photo, brief bio, and relationship status.

There's Quake merchandise available on Nine Inch Nails (nin.com) store right now. I'm not affiliated with either. Just a fan of the band and the game.

I feel exactly the same. The CF services I do use are DNS and R2. I'd be curious if there's a guide somewhere that lists their services through the lens of lock-in. For example, R2 is somewhat S3 compatible so it's less risky to use because I can swap providers.

Not really news until it's widely available.

Anyone know the latest around Fable being re-released after gov smackdown?

I'm glad to see this feature and looking forward to see how it evolves.

Many of the product decisions that Zed's made caused me to switch to Zed for my daily driver IDE (previously JetBrains). The recent AI agent threads and improvements around diffs really solidified the move.
