> Other A.I. executives have said no slowdown is needed.

So the largest companies, the companies with the biggest budgets and most users, are pushing for regulations that only they have the resources to follow.

And this is based on new disclosures that include, ~"used a key without asking permission one time."

What a clever way to lock up a market before open models get better.

I note that Linode will still let you run exit nodes on their infra (though they may ask you to respond to specific complaints to reduce the exit policy).

What a great endorsement for Strunk and White! I love a precise insight, and I'll cede that unfamiliar word may be necessary.

But a polemic that shit-talks the best authors of the 20th century is mid and unpersuasive.

One of the ironies of a vibe coded VHF teletext is that the LLM-pocalypse prompted dropping low-level network support (AX.25) from the Linux kernel, which is the basis of a lot of ham networking experiments.

There are userspace workarounds for much of what was dropped, there were no real upstream maintainer of this stuff, and it was justifiable to drop AX.25 support. I don't really understand any of it, nor am I in the unenviable position of keeping it around/working. But a real mixed bag of ham news, AFAICT.

I'm down with killing restrictive zoning laws. But removing regulation has not historically been a great curb for the uber-wealthy.
