The problem with this is that you're looking at actually existing Zionism and the history of Zionist leaders' actual statements and deeds. When approaching a nuanced topic like this, it's important to imagine a hypothetical ideal Zionism that hasn't spent the last 78 years engaging in ethnic cleansing.

In this context it means "text written before the advent of AI slop, so we know it at least came from humans and wasn't influenced by AI slop".

Aside: when did we start calling a period "full stop" in US English? I don't remember anyone saying that 15 years ago except British people.

I remember hearing on some podcast years ago that thanks to HGTV everyone started painting their houses white or beige, because they saw on reality TV shows that that made the house easier to sell. What you're describing sounds like a scaled up version of that.

> Say you’re cooking braised white beans and greens with parmesan, NYT Cooking app in hand. But you notice that you’re out of chard and only have spinach. Cooking veterans know that chard is a rough-and-tumble green that has some backbone, while spinach is a comparative wimp that will wilt the moment you look at it funny. If you need to sub in spinach for chard, how would the recipe change? Would you, for instance, add the spinach later than you would the chard to account for its pathetic stamina? That’s the sort of thing the new AI feature could account for.

Frankly I can see how this would be useful to some people. At least it would help prevent the ridiculous "I didn't have eggs so I added applesauce, the cake came out all flat IDK what's wrong" type of substitutions.

There are also of people with deep technical knowledge that has a lot of value but doesn't necessarily find a lucrative market outside Microsoft (e.g. Windows internals).

I wouldn't say it's zero skill but I'm always surprised by people who act like it's a big differentiator that requires significant "training". Uncharitably it feels like vibe-coders want to count their "skills" as equivalent to actual software engineering rather than something you can pick up in 2-3 weeks of effort.

One thing I've noticed about Microsoft is that the engineers seem much less mobile than people at SV companies might be used to. Part of it is that there just aren't as many good options in the Seattle area where many MSFT employees are based (by far the standout alternative alternative is Amazon and they don't exactly have the best reputation for workplace culture).

Also Microsoft has already been trashing morale with year after year of layoffs. They probably assume this won't move the needle.
