This project is so cool! Congrats Aaed.
Breaking Taps on YouTube did a really awesome video on a somewhat similar mechanism (I'm no mechanical engineer haha, it was new to me!), rolling contact joints. I love "The Grand Inquisitor" from Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamazov. It's not exactly a deal with the devil, but it does have some interesting parallels.

A bit disappointing that you cannot purchase just the new OLED screen and replace it in the LCD model, considering the dimensions are the same.
I wonder what the true limiting factor for this is? I'd love to upgrade, but ~$500 feels like a little too much for the usage I currently get out of my Deck.

You say "us" existing, but I think the more interesting way to phrase it is "anything" existing. Why there is something instead of nothing?
Just kidding. This museum is actually awesome. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly when I visited years ago (I went to college nearby).
If I remember correctly, one of the curators mentioned adding feathers to some of their more permanent exhibits when I was there. Maybe they are still working on expanding that and/or getting everyone on board? I'd love to hear their actual reasoning! I gotta go back and pester them about feathers.
