It can start to reason about what it seems under the microscope. You just need to train it on images and data from microscopes.

We definitely need mathematicians to understand it and verify to us that the math is correct. And it takes a mathematician to even talk to the AI in a way that will be useful. There is no way I could personally get Claude Fable or Opean AI GPT 6 to generate a proof of Fermat's Theorem in LEAN. It actually take mathematical skills. And real depth to understand the work.

I'm pretty confident that no 15 year old would have learned about void coefficients if Chernobyl hadn't happened.

Well. I own my business and I really hate this attitude that some startups executives have. I want quality. Not blind speed. I want speed to be a by product of a well built product and a system that builds it. Not a bunch of slop thrown over the wall that I have to then debug and fix.

Yes. China is behind on some of the crucial technology that gives the West its advantage, but this framing that the country is on the verge of collapse is just not true.

Also recreating a know technology usually takes much less time even if you don't have access to the underlying tech.

Not an American, but I would argue that this level while little bit of a concern is not a huge issue for a superpower that borrows in its own currency and has the military and economic might to crush any party (sovereign or corporate) attempting move away from that system.

You guys are too powerful.

Using Pangram to detect AI slop is a very bad idea. I tried it on my own writing which I knew to be written by me and it marked it as AI generated.

Not quite in job interviews, but when I'm selling to a client, I just ask in the interview if it is okay, if I connect with them on LinkedIn. Some say yes. Others say no.

Should work in a job interview setting as well.

It also has the benefit of giving me a signal. Usually if the interview went well, the interviewer will happily agree to be connected. If not, you'll see either a refusal or subtle body language indicating discomfort with the connection. And you can then form your own conclusions about the probability of getting an offer before the firm gets back to you (or often ghosts you.)

Use every signal your prospect gives you.

Dammit! Why am I the only 'Ivy type' that cannot raise a round?!!! .

Yes. While they may have been justified in firing him for not following policy, they also lost a talented engineer. (I'm sure they don't care) I would have done the intelligent thing here and looked at how the project could have been made official. But that decision would have had to been made at a very high level, maybe even the CEO, because anyone lower down would have made a narrow and parochial decision in favour of the org they were protecting, rather than in the best interests of the company.

But why would ask these people about topics they don't understand? Or they sending you unsolicited responses?
