Would there be significant disadvantages in using both platforms at the same time? Or does "pivoted to FB" also imply that the content was adjusted to FB audience?

Perhaps, but I believe that not being able to install one or two crucial apps (e.g. banking) would be a deal-breaker for a good portion of those people.

He may be interested in devices which can connect to a phone via bluetooth and to amps via standard audio cables. They basically turn any old amp/speakers setup into a wireless streaming one, and they work quite well.

The expressed negativity is not directed towards hardware development process, rather towards what ended up being insincere promises the team gave about the state of the product that would be shipping in Q3 2019.
