The point of science and math is to discover truths about the world, not to have a "career" being a "scientist". They should "steal ideas", uploading documents to a company that they are going to store for 100 years is what you're doing when you use a model on someone else's servers. As long as they say who they stole it from there shouldn't be any issue.

QR codes are really ugly artifacts, completely inhuman. It would be better and more technologically advanced if instead we had really good OCR for a printed text code or skip product codes entirely and scanners just use vision to see what the object is.

My experience with Pi was that I pasted some error and asked Codex to solve it and it explicitly said something like "you could be mistaken into thinking this is X but it's actually Y", which was weird because it was pretty clearly not X and I've never seen it say that. Then I installed Pi with the same OpenAI model and gave it the same task and it told me it was X and I promptly never used Pi again because why would you want to take chances like that.

You can't start doing this, the only way it ends is with a full rainbow deck of cards that the referee has to spend 5 minutes digging through every time someone gets tripped.

There's also the effect that sunscreen makes you spend more time in the sun than if you didn't use sunscreen because you think you're "protected".

I turned this off because it engages when you're on a flight and in that context it feels kind of nonsensical and just annoying. I don't think the people who made this thought about flights.

A finite set of symbols (laws) can never express everything a reasonable person would want to be allowed to happen in the world.
