The problem is not monads. Any programmer understands the need to represent "the world". It is the need to keep that representation modular that leads to monad transformers, which makes regular people (like me) simply check out and go back to C++

The usual concern is attorneys, but judges are probably even more overloaded these days. Can this help judges as well? If so, would this ultimately lead to better decisions?

Hmm... The author starts with C.Munger's quote “Show me the incentive and I will show you the outcome”, then proceeds to express dissatisfaction with the current outcome of academic research. Regrettably, the author never returns back with:
a) analysis of current incentives; and
b) proposal to change those for a better outcome;

We can not attribute the moral image of the protagonist to Bieber himself. He is an artist, so he is describing an experience of life, perhaps stemming from the receiving end of a fake apology.
Otherwise, it is a very good and thought-provoking article.

Right, but I thought it matters only if you sell something globally. Linux is distributed for free, so the burden of patent compliance is on the user, isn't it?
