There's something about some late 90's (or early 2000's) games that's really to hard to match nowadays, they were incredibly addictive and you could feel the passion (and crunch-time) that went into making them, all of that without the predatory micro-transaction and cassino-like mechanics that are rampant nowadays.

I mentioned org-publish late in the post, I do have my own personal blog built atop of it (and nix as well), this current setup with Gleam is more like an experiment and I get a lot of stuff for free that took me a while to get it working in my personal blog (like syntax highlighting, rss, etc), and I'd still argue that my templating system in pure elisp + crappy html sucks.

Emacs is also bloated (if want it to be), but in this case, it's good bloat, the kind that you naturally gravitate towards, eventually it might take your notes, emails, agenda and so on...

The premise looks nice, but the project being full of random .tmp-*/.log files does not bring much confidence to it.

Once you're more comfortable with it and want to try a typed functional programming language, I highly recommend checking OCaml (or SML, if you're into old school tech) and see how the Module Functors are applied, most software will look extremely over-engineered after you write a few functors. It's the feature I miss the most when coding in F# or Gleam, for instance.

or you can throw all of this into the trash and just use Nix.

Are you trying to be sane and rational in a market that has turned into a casino? U crazy or something?
