Not true. I have had interactions where I will tell it something that is unbelievable (even to a slight degree) and it will laugh (ChatGPT).

> An AI bifurcation, free AI for the masses and dangerously powerful AI for the psychopathic leaders of industry and global politics.

We got a small taste of that when Claude pulled Opus 4.6 from public use. You either paid a lot more to access better models or you were restricted to extremely limited access.

I assume the paid work is issued via a private repo and not full access?

I'll tell you what I would tell myself if given the chance: Learn to take (calculated) risks and to be free of the weight of the judgement of others. Learn to do the baseline things that keep you healthy in body and mind and maintain them.

As for reading, I don't think any one book will affect everyone the same way or have the same impact, but do read. Don't be afraid to read things that make you uncomfortable. In fact, embrace discomfort in reading and in all aspects of life.

At my mother's workplace, there was a group of coworkers who each donated an amount of money per paycheck. Each paycheck, one coworker would get the lump sum that was collected for that paycheck. Similar concept to the one described here. They called it "susu" or something to that effect. If I remember correctly, it got messy when people would leave the workplace or when, occasionally, someone would get robbed on the way home.

ELI5? What are the factors and implications?

Once you no longer "own" the code, does it matter? If you provide a very detail set of specifications and success criteria then you can turn it into a black box. The code is no longer the asset, just the business that uses it. You can use AI to extract the requirements from the existing code and then modify as needed however, I would recommend doing this in two phases: first the conversion, then the enhancements.

- I review once the code is functionally doing what I am looking for.

- I try to keep the features small so that the code is manageable.

- After manually reviewing, I ask it to review the code. Assuming you have coding standards well defined, you will find that it may not follow those standards during development so having an isolated review step seems to provide better results.

I'd love to hear more about that. Could you provide more details? Is there a noticeable shift in the job market?

This is true. I was in the ocean this past weekend for the first time in almost a year and though the water was cold, the 20 minutes or so I was in there felt like an eternity and left me feeling much better.

My main use case for FB is a group related to reviewing restaurants in the area. I have no FB friends/connections. I use messenger for my one friend who insists on using it. It is mostly slop (and strangely I get posts from that same relationship account), I scroll for about 5 minutes at a time before I realize it is not worth looking at. And truthfully, that is what I want from social media: a few minutes worth of distraction followed by the feeling that I had just wasted my time and then on to something more meaningful.

Precisely. Once I point out the fact that it is doing this, it seems to produce better results for a bit before going back to the same.

I jokingly (and not so) thought that it was trained on data that made it think it should be tired at the end of the day.

But it is happening daily and at night.

How about `importer`?

I think it will be B&N gift cards for my just-about-to-be-teen daughters. It will encourage them to buy and use something physical whether drawing supplies or books. Fingers crossed.
