I think at these early stages of autopilot driving, drivers should always assume they are the ones driving as there are sharing the roads with mere mortals behind wheels. There are reports that the driver may have been watching a movie on the screen. I would have thought the driver should be unable to watch a movie on the screen while driving even in autopilot mode. For example, the range rover has a dual screen view where the front passenger can watch a movie on the screen, but the driver will not be able to view nor hear whats going on even though (s)he is looking at the same screen.

I think this is fantastic. In hindsight, it is a no-brainer. Good for mozilla and hoping the others will catch up

In same directory

time ls -al | awk '{print $1,$3}' real 0m0.008s user 0m0.000s sys 0m0.004s

time ls -al | col 1 3 real 0m1.690s user 0m1.143s sys 0m0.173s

While I appreciate the effort, it seems to me that this decreases the snappiness of the unix terminal experience for not much gain.

> The religious are no different, they rail against how wrong science is, and yet at the same time have no problem using the fruits of scientific labor like air travel, the Internet or clean water.

Tone it down or be more specific. You are making a very sweeping generalization. And do not worry, I am not going to get into an extended conversation on this.

Unfortunately, you haven't told me anything. I will leave it at that.

Forgive my ignorance, but what are your greviances with clojure? It seems to me to be a very practical LISP.

The way I see this is that it is pretty much business as usual. I think that anyone who sincerely believes that capable states do not employ similar tactics within their spy apparatus is engaging in self delusion.

States have historically spied on each other (allies and enemies). I can understand the sensationalist aspect of this as 'news', but IMHO there is nothing new here; move on.

Perhaps, someone here with a much better command of history than I do could help out with the latest time in history where the relevant technologies of the day were not key parts of nation states' intelligence gathering systems.

Maybe I'm just cynical, but I am very doubtful that Facebook would hard-delete anything.

Would you mind substantiating your generalisation that investment bankers make money without creating anything useful?

yes, but you cannot assume that 'the owners' are all happy. Some may be but some may not be. I probably wont be. For those who are happy, fine; but for those who aren't, I would struggle to see how that wont be characterised as vandalism.
