http.cat author here.

A shout out to Tomomi Imura, because HTTP Status Cats was her idea and I just made the images available through an API.

It's crazy to think that since 2010 this still pops up on the HN front page from time to time. Thank you for that!

http.cat is a testament of how simple, fun and silly the internet was back then. I'll try to keep it online for as long as I can.

I love reading the stories you all share online about it, they fuel my motivation to keep it up and I'm always open to feedback and new ideas. So feel free to share them here or on the github repo.

Cheers!

Actually, there's this portuguese startup already working on something similar: http://crowdprocess.com

And they are solving very interesting and useful problems. Like for instance execute calculations that help firemen predict the direction of a fire front.

Moderation is the key. If you attend hackathons often, it really has negative impact on your health, just like spending all weekend nights in a disco, drinking alcohol until morning also does (and allot more people do the latter).

That's the point. And it's not linked to "pages with images". It actually just returns the image as Content-Type header field reveals :)
