So they replaced a tool from an evil corporation by another one disguised as an open source project.

Came to say this. No way that I will use Safari. As a regular user, why not (even though UX choices are really weird). As a developer, never ever ever. Firefox dev tools are simply on another level entirely. As someone who has escaped two years ago the Apple ecosystem, Firefox too.

Yeah we need to change that. The other versions will be decommissioned.

Yes, for now it is. It's a temporary website, and it'll be refreshed and de-slopified once the new version will be released.

One of the first guys I blocked after Musk took over. A pretentious guy. And the product itself is really catastrophic (not even talking about the content, purely the features), so I wouldn't be too proud to have contributed to, I think, a decline in morality and decency in the public discourse under the pretext of free speech.

The consistency and quality of the releases are impressive. If I was told five years ago that someone took over the task of creating a web browser from scratch, WITHOUT AI HELP AT FIRST, I would not have believe it.

3 years after, nothing from their sides has changed, and it's worse than before.

I'm far too stupid for that and I'm also privileged so what do I know. Many are more qualified to do so. I just think that his statement is not acceptable and is clearly dangerous for the society as a whole.

Fascinating to see how many tech people, as soon as they get rich, turn to extreme. Name them all - they mostly all are very active on X, and each new tweet pushes the limits of what was previously deemed unacceptable. I'm rich, so my opinion must be more important, right?

Amazing news. Wonder if this will be synced on multiple machines through Mozilla Connect, since that wasn't the case with the Mozilla’s Multi-Account Containers extension before.

I hope it is, since it was a major pain point before.

And 1password which works fantastically with Fastmail with their Masked emails feature.

The first few words perhaps, to point out that well, stop complaining.

Internet has made it incredibly easy for people to simply complain about everything all the time. Negativity never helped humanity move forward - this post is a just a complain. The good thing? The author could actually contribute to Gitlab's code instead of writing what they should do instead because they are noobs and have no idea on to write performant code.

Secondly, I'm actually grateful for all these years where Github was amazing and helped the open source tremendously, my projects included. Github had ten amazing years. I'll be forever grateful for that. It still helps the OSS community, by the way, despite all its uptime challenges.

Thirdly, I agree, there are UX challenges that are barely justifiable, but on the uptime front, I sympathize with their teams to have to deal with the gazillion pull requests and comments made by AI agents and bots, which indeed impact performance tremendously.
