I built something like this (a long time ago) for my own purposes. So did a startup we're working with!
That says there might be a need for it, but on the downside it's really simple to build, so competition can spring up very quickly.

I haven't dug through this 14-page document yet: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3044...
But the gamepad API could easily supported. Only problem is the controller now has default behavior (controlling the browser cursor).

Looks similar to [Divvy](http://mizage.com/divvy/), which I bought a while ago and now use about every 30 seconds ;)
