Ostrom didn’t “debunk” the tragedy of the commons. She showed that it can be avoided when you have stable communities, clear boundaries, repeated interactions, monitoring, and real consequences for free riders.

The problem is that those conditions are much harder to maintain in a highly mobile, anonymous modern society. When people can easily enter, exit, and dump costs on strangers, trust and enforcement break down — which is basically where the tragedy of the commons comes from.

That sounds nice on paper, but you’re assuming Nvidia wants to play fair. Nvidia is never going to share future microarchitecture secrets, so the moment they drop a new chip and update the compiler, everyone playing the compatibility game has to start from scratch.

What we now call food addiction is exactly what kept our ancestors alive during famines.

Armchair philosophy without empirical data is just stuck in a loop of endless thought experiments. LLMs basically nuked the Chinese Room argument out of existence.

John Searle treated understanding like some magical binary property you either have or you dont. LLMs proved that understanding isnt a static noun, it is an emergent phenomenon.

Chomskyan school misled the entire field of linguistics for decades by ignoring spoken languages.
