Individual companies are not bubbles

So if a few AI companies survive but most go bankrupt in the next 5 years, which is almost certainly what will happen, it will not have been a bubble?

Yep that's why the trolls lick that strategy

I think SRE is a solid career pivot right now, especially if you have an overlapping skill set like mechanical/electrical engineering.

I'm sure there are uglier incantations, but I recently discovered this is the correct way to run a traceroute in powershell

Test-NetConnection -ComputerName dns.google -TraceRoute

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_know_it_when_I_see_it

> The expression became one of the best-known phrases in the history of the Supreme Court.[4] Though "I know it when I see it" is widely cited as Stewart's test for "obscenity", he did not use the word "obscenity" himself in his short concurrence, but stated that he knew what fit the "shorthand description" of "hard-core pornography" when he saw it.

Based on the branding, I think their target demographic assumes the dev in /dev/null is short for "Developers"

A lot (not all) of these are people get off on power dynamics of the real situation, not the pixels in the JPEG. They need therapy, not "methadone"

(Side note, talk to someone whose done methadone sometime, it's not as magical as it sounds)

Generating sexualized pictures of minors and normalizing pedophillia is soliciting more abuse. You are willfully ignore that at this point to defend your shitty analogy. Your analogy sucks because child porn, and especially it's distribution is inherently bad for society. Trafficking an airsoft gun does nothing. Your semantic arguments about the acronym are extremely cliche especially since you know exactly what everyone means. Before some people started calling it CSAM, it was called child pornography AND IT WAS STILL ILLEGAL

Should we allow victims of child pornography to endorse the distribution of images of themselves as a child once they are an adult too since at that point, each additional viewer doesn't generate an additional victim? No, because it encouraged future abuse.

I'm not convinced you can stop someone from taking real CSAM, and recreating it with AI to get a copy with a watermark. Also, assuming your correct and someday we have some watermarked attested "victimless" child pornography. I'd love to hear your best "data-based" argument that shows that predators will be satiated by pictures they have no doubt about being fake. It's laughable.

I hate to extend a bad analogy, but If you rob a convenience store with an airsoft rifle that is visually indistinguishable from a real gun, you will be charged with armed robbery.

People are already using AI to generate porn of real minors, so you don't have to get hypothetical to see how the technology is used to abuse children. If it's easy for any predator to do this, then it's not hard to imagine that they will blackmail minors by threatening to release AI nudes to their friends and family unless they send them real CSAM.
