Performance would probably not suffer at all...
EDIT: But if you really want to make this a useful lib, bake in a way to disable the `armor` for debugging/development.

Definitely not $2B "Profit" since they would have to subtract all other overhead costs like salaries etc.
I think the article mentions that actual profit might be negative.

This tripped me up too, but I would guess the author meant to say $10.84B gross revenue and $2B net revenue.

React Nexus basically recursively traverses the react component tree and calls getNexusBindings on each component (recreating what react does natively with its lifecycle methods).
However, this incurs the cost of instantiating each component in the tree twice. Once for traversing asynchronously for data, again for React.renderToString or React.render
This would cause slower initial page loads for SPAs. Otherwise, very cool implementation.

You mean doesn't track views but only tracks clicks/conversions?
The only problem I would see with that is that if a user already converted by clicking the ad, he would continue to see the same ad when he is on your site again. You're no longer able to extract more $ from that user.

Umm they forced me(as in I wasn't able to use youtube otherwise) to connect my Google account to my Youtube so...that is pretty much combining the accounts in my book.
I think, they just needed that to collect my aggregate search+video watching behavior for ad targeting, which they got.

I'm relatively new to HN. It's disappointing but I kind of just accepted the Microsoft hate, as a given(like nick cage on reddit).
Also recently I started to see posts from older HN members who don't like what the community is turning into.
The increase wasn't arbitrary. And neither is the initial 140 limit...
Originally, our constraint was 160 (limit of a text) minus username. But we noticed @biz got 1 more than @jack. For fairness, we chose 140. Now texts are unlimited. Also, we realize that 140 isn't fair—there are differences between languages. We're testing the limits. Hello 280!
