Let's take this all the way through : in such a world, AI operators will deem the majority of human lives to be completely worthless, and arrange for a mass reduction of it.

The struggle for supremacy is embedded in nature, and it will absolutely be at play no matter what.

The whole article is about just that : the LLM has to know what an "animal" and a "street" is to perform effectively.

But then dumbly concludes : oh is language intelligence ? ("Perhaps our form of intelligence is tantamount to language modeling, too?"). C'mon.

>> To be sure, the success of LLMs shows how much information about the world is encoded in the statistical patterns of language alone

How can we still have it so backwards. Language is just a medium to convey information on an underlying reality. LLM do not model the medium, they model the underlying reality (so far as the medium allows it).

Thanks for the tips. To be clear I absolutely wasn't criticizing GrapheneOS in any way. I know things are this way (and my choice) and I'm perfectly fine with it.

In any case, many thanks for your work. GrapheneOS is a breath of fresh air in the consumer electronics nightmare.

French cars are hopeless (since the 2010s). Stay away from them especially if they're such marketing stunts.

Some don't work at all, bc they must be GSF-only I guess (installed via Aurora store). Others like Whatsapp or Signal sort of work but sometimes the app seems to not be running (even though I set up the no battery optimization). And I get multiple unread messages at once when manually starting the app.

Same for us on our Grapheneos Pixels. Notification are a bit of a lottery. But we take that as a feature. People can call if there's an emergency.

Thanks for these insights. They made me think of AI as what a mechanic is for your car. He knows more and is more capable than you, and he can save you a lot of time vs if you had to do the dirty work yourself.

However, the more you know yourself about car maintenance, the more you will trust his diagnosis, solutions and the fairness of the money he asks for it. More generally, the more you will trust him to act in your interest instead of only his (or someone else's).

The edge in the AI future will be ownership.

The AI overlords will eventually consider the majority of human lives to be worthless. Let's face it, one day we will need to fight for mere survival.

Did you feed OpenAI models with your insights though ?

AI will eventually get better than you at all you do, because it trains on your inputs.

Secret knowledge/data will be tomorrow's gold.
