This year I finally decided to start using my non-google voice number to take advantage of the much better SMS/MMS/RCS options. Google Voice has just obviously stagnated over the years with almost zero new features. The new automatic spam call answering screener I believe is also not supported on Google Voice which is very ironic, you would think Google Voice would be the perfect place to implement this!

Just another case of extend and extinguish by Google -- they acquired Grand Central many years ago to create Google Voice but then never really took it anywhere.

No, definitely didn't touch any of it. Once I found out that all you got was actually a URL to a CDN that is not guaranteed to be serving that data forever, I knew it was a house of cards, a complete facade. If the "digital asset" you were "purchasing" had all of its bits and bytes living in the global public ledger, I might give it a bit more attention or support. But definitely not the way it was set up.

I need to do some more research on this. Because I've always been told that AI, more specifically LLMs, are "glorified autocompletes". Yes they have huge data sets but ultimately they can only provide answers based on data that they were trained on.

So how can they possibly solve problems that humans have worked for decades or centuries on without being able to solve? How did they find something new? Is it that they were able to deduce the solution by examining all current data sets? Or simply brute force it until the produced solution passed all necessary tests?

You need to add achievements/trophies! Definitely need to achieve a trophy for clicking on the very first square, finding the first mine, your first flag, etc.

Policy officers are mis-using this powerful, hugely invasive massive surveillance tool? I am utterly shocked!

I would NOT get tattooed for a job interview. I WOULD get tattooed for a JOB. Yes I'm that desperate. YES This is highly unethical.

Interesting -- I thought OnePlus batteries were supposed to wear down LESS than other phones specifically because of their "High amp" charging technique versus "High voltage". After some quick research it seems this is mostly due to the heat generated during charging happens in the charger brick instead of the phone, keeping the heat away from the battery. But I suppose in real world situations it may not have a huge effect.

That's why I said I'd suggest things. And of course I'd go along with strategic plans. Every company is different -- you'd be surprised at how many shitty [small] companies are out there that are actually profitable and want to keep things the same, refusing to do anything differently.

I would say quantum computing. It's one area you can't just tell an LLM to solve for you (yet, until the material and solutions are out there of course).

This is why I always work at a new company at least 6-12 months before making any major changes. I use that time to get into the flow of how things are being done (even if I think they are not efficient). I may make some suggestions but that's it.

Of course, I'll probably never get hired again anywhere so it doesn't matter anymore.

Much respect -- at first glance when I saw the animated gif I thought this was just a project making assets from scratch for an existing game engine (e.g. Doom or Wolf 3D) but then I realize it's creating all the game code from scratch too! (But using similar techniques from the old days). Amazing work.
