Perhaps some good news from a paper out of Japan: https://twitter.com/SystemsVirology/status/14747596949717278... "The 6th preprint from G2P-Japan - #Omicron is less infectious and pathogenic than #Delta and even an early pandemic SARS-CoV-2 in infected hamster model."

Note: less infectious here means intra-cell, it's still more transmissible than Delta.

Another thread summarizing what this means: https://twitter.com/sailorrooscout/status/147509796693972172...

From https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207006 (at the bottom of the help article) - "If Wi-Fi is unavailable, iMessages will be sent over cellular data. Cellular data rates might apply." So I'm not sure if it is free over mobile data.

On the other hand, I believe AT&T zero rates their RCS messages if you have an unlimited texting plan. (e.g. https://www.att.com/shop/wireless/features/advanced-messagin... > FAQ > how much does advanced messaging cost). Could not find details on TMobile except this article: https://newsroom.t-mobile.com/news-and-blogs/rcs-messaging-l...

"Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone, Silence the pianos and with muffled drum Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead, Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves, Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West, My working week and my Sunday rest, My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song; I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one; Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun; Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood. For nothing now can ever come to any good."

Interesting...the one nice thing I do like about the Google+ app running on Android is how it automatically uploads my pictures to a private folder online. Many times, I have come back from long hikes but the pictures remain in my slr for a few days because I was too lazy/tired to upload my pictures from the SD card to the computer. Having this functionality to automatically upload your pictures once you get home would be nice.
