One tangential issue I have, is that all NFC-payment apps seem to use Google Pay or some sort of API detecting custom roms or root, disabling NFC-payment features.

It's much better with a card inserted. Infact the ExpressCard-slot made me choose an X220 over the X230. It can be used to connect an external GPU!

1. The author does not acknowledge the existence of non-POW crypto assets.

2. Illicit mining is easy to detect and mitigate.

3. If you can't stop it, make it illegal? Sounds hardly like a compelling argument.

Following this explanation this doesn't explain the political developments in Germany. Or perhaps it does, as the rise of right-wing politicians and extremists is still rather limited. Worrisome nevertheless.

So, what's the solution to prevent such escalations? As per the discussion, there are at least some hints that some countries are heading in that direction again.
