Maybe Anthropic could provide a Claude tier where you get access to Max-tier subscriptions in exchange of participating in experimental drug programs? Would be a huge boon for AI enthusiasts and other tech optimists.

It seems that you can only get 32GBs of RAM maximum for the new 14" M6 Macbooks? M5 still has 64GB options available. edit: the larger configurations are only available for the Pro and Max chips apparently.

It’s also no mistake that a certain ”flying” car was shown recently, it’s like jangling shiny keys in front of people and the general public, including HN, ate it wholesale.

Great article that really demonstrates why the copious amounts of AI generated PC ports do not fit under ”preservation” guise, which to me has been the point of doing these ports in the first place and what many of the enthusiasts before the LLM wave were aiming for.

> There are no noticeable bugs and all features of the original game are present.

> The remaining functions have been reworked repeatedly. While they still don’t match byte for byte, we believe their semantics are correct.

As there are no way to confirm this outside of ”believinh”, what you are left is with a end product that might contain thousands of micro changes that essentially make the game something else than it was intended to be.

Maybe it helps that 50 years ago people could actually afford to buy things like big houses where to throw parties at.

Have you considered looking up designers you like and asking them instead of "budget friendly designers on Fiverr"?

The author claims that the AI posters don’t have to be horrible, but fail to see that the dozen variations generated are not distinctive - they might have somewhat different typography or imaginary, but still have the same AI uniformity and smell as the crappy restaurant poster you see on the street. The core issue is not only technical, but also the lack of vision and imagination when creating art or even infographics.

I played it with Playstation VR2 and it was great, cost me around 350 euros for the headset and the PC dongle during black friday some years ago, but it might be more expensive now.

Unlike Steam keys, there are no ways to distribute Playstation keys outside of Playstation platform. By removing retailers and second hand markets, what exactly would make Sony or any other publishers to continue offering any deep discounts on their products on a closed platform, especially when their biggest competitor Xbox has dropped the ball heavily.

Homebrew 6.0.0 seems to be the first major version of brew that is heavily written using AI. There’s new document at https://docs.brew.sh/Responsible-AI-Usage that was added 11 hours ago. Do you think that these guidelines have been followed consistently since 5.0.0?

Luckily we have had the perfect paradigm for this kind of mindset for decades: proprietary software. The spirit of open source is already essentially dead due to it being co-opted by companies and individuals working only for their own gain, and for it to rise again we probably need a total reset.
