Mind share is the true moat. It doesn't matter if your product is not special if when someone thinks "frontier" and "agentic development" they still think of Claude. They don't think Antigravity or Gemini while Google has also decided to safety max themselves into failing to gain more mind share.

It is like saying there is no impact on math because solving a millennium prize problem didn’t net them a profit. It is just a naive way of looking at things.

If a lot of jobs were still manufacturing jobs I would agree, but we are in a service economy that uses computers as the main tool. So I don't see how it won't come into effect fairly soon into other areas of work. You can't measure impact by profit alone so I don't find the article particularly interesting anyway.

"slowly change things in 20 years"

Yeah, it is not going to be slow. Progress compounds, everything is being built on top of fast computers and fast widespread internet connection. You are not at the beginning of the curve like you were in the 20th century when people didn't even know how to use a keyboard and we are already seeing widespread disruption in security.

>Why did you have to phrase it like this, instead of just bringing up your own counterpoint?

>What does this have to do with this? I'm not sure you understand the point being made..

Chris, buddy. We probably should not talk on this platform again. Have a great day!

It is not a rare take, this is from a 2007 video game: "Humans fail to see things as they truly are. They choose to see only what they wish. I acted only in support for this. A world filled with desires... viewed through a window, from which one sees what one wishes to see... Humans departed from reality at their own volition, craving more false images."

So AI holds the same beliefs as the final boss of a typical JRPG.

They certainly made a loss on this guy but it is far from "stupid" from a consumer perspective.

Treating anti-consumer practices as the "logical conclusion" while failing to give one is annoying. What you stated doesn't solve the fact that many people want to play games with others online, it is not just about assets.

Your "logical conclusion" ignores that many popular games rely on online content anyway. You still need their servers without needing it to be streamed.

The headline is completely misleading. There is no ban.
