It's not necessarily just about wanting to see someone executed. Which is worse:

- Executing people in a way that makes us not have to think about it as a society, or only think about it in passing

- Executing people in our faces, so we have to think about it

Personally I find the first option gross. "Out of sight, out of mind"--you know what I mean?

Why the downvotes? After AI takes our jobs, all of us technical people are going to have to resort to hunting and gathering, which puts us in the crosshairs of the Amish. It makes perfect sense.

I think the contraceptive affect is stronger if the mother nurses on demand, i.e. through the night

Here's another example (this from Europe) of a story that probably originates 100,000 years ago: https://www.iflscience.com/an-ancient-human-story-about-the-...

TLDR: the story is about a constellation that is seven sisters, but one is hiding; and that constellation does indeed have seven stars, but one hasn't been visible for 100k years.

Political campaigns spend enormous amounts of money on ads to influence public opinion. That makes politicians beholden to their donors. Which subverts democracy from "the will of the people" to "the will of the wealthy". All of these are uncontroversial facts and fit the narrative GP is saying.

True! But, you wouldn't just need SRV support in browsers--you'd need it in every part of your dev environment / stack that touches the network. If your backend talks to a database, then your backend needs to support SRV. So you need SRV support in your standard library and your browser.

But at a larger level this tool just makes everything work so smoothly. If you have two services with the same name, it pops up a notification in the tray. If you start a new process with a different name, you don't have to configure SRV; the DNS just becomes available automatically. HTTPS is auto configured. That sort of thing.

I think somebody could one day make something like this that was based on SRV, but it would still need all those niceties to make it work well for developers.

Without temporary monopolies granted by patents, those prescription medications wouldn’t exist in the first place.

But doesn’t that mean that there must be life elsewhere? I.e. those Lego blocks must have come from a complete set somewhere else, right?

How is this supposed to make me agree with Kushner?
