Yes some of the best "AI" features Apple has implemented are related to picture search : you can describe what you want to find and it will consistently find it, even inside of videos with highlights or the moments you're looking for. Much less supposedly sexy than the SIRI AI / Apple Intelligence hype, but also much more useful

One must also consider the proximity between musk and the trump administration, the market pricing this proximity is the market pricing power, access and aligning its interest with the blatant collusion between political power and business in the US.

That or the good ol’ « dump it on retail » scheme

It does offer beauty and relief to the fact that the observable universe is something like 10^80 the volume of a humain being. At that incomprehensible scale, I think poetry and spirituality is a rather nice placeholder while loads of brilliant minds work on our understanding of physics

Interesting question to ask that then calls for decisive action : actively resisting endless content feeds. Is there any other way ? Can we trust ourselves to be stronger than the appeal of our smartphones combined with ultra attractive videos feeds ?

I used to manage but the covid period broke all my safeguards and I now often ask myself not 'what is this', but 'who am i ?'

Who am I when i've spent 2 hours scrolling a video feed mindlessly, read tens of pointless comments from people that have no existence whatsoever from my perspective ?

I often look at people's phones in the metro, most of them are using tiktok or something similar, observing how braindead is the content on other people's feed really is a wake-up call for me to act on what I must call a crippling addiction

The article explains how Ashton Kutcher backed non-profit "Thorn" was a cornerstone of the Chat Control bill that was to be passed a few years back ; it also explains how Palantir pushed for the bill behind the scenes and how at least one former FBI agent and other members of non-EU security agencies participated in meetings to kickstart that new version of the bill.
