What are you working on that takes days?

I don't think this has got the attention it deserves. This is brilliant!

Such an amazing world that we can now revive old hardware in a modern way like this.

This is an incredible use of tech! Would love to hear what the HN community think.

Do you think in the future, maybe in 5 to 10 years, that the vibe coded aesthetic will come back as a design trend?

Loved it!

As a coder, I’ve had no desire to use Fable. In fact I switched from Opus models to sonnet 5 and haven’t noticed any drop in quality on large repos. It seems the gap at the top is very small and not hugely noticeable for backed/frontend. Has anyone else had this experience?

This reminded me of work in general, years ago I was thinking how nursery was so expensive. I could try and work harder, earn more, to pay for nursery - or just quit and look after my children. If the goal was making money to look after my children, why make it difficult?

p.s. LOVE the animated header on this blog

Anecdotally, I have 3 young kids who sometimes all talk to me at once. It's impossible to process, but with 2, I've noticed it IS kinda possible process.

This is a great post. I've been advocating this for over a decade.

> The most important conversations are not always the ones that appear on the agenda. They are the ones that happen before the formal session begins, in the ten minutes after it ends, in the corridor while people are putting on their coats. These are not peripheral to the group’s work. They are often where the group’s actual thinking takes place.

This is a core belief. One, in fact, that at my last workplace, we understood well and designed for. After client meetings, we would walk clients slowly back though the kitchen and pause for a while there, splitting up into informal chats, before seeing them out of the door. Afterwards, we would quickly compare notes on all the things they said on the way out. These things were often the most important steers for the project.

I watched Possession (1981) a few weeks back. One of the weirdest films I’ve ever seen. His acting was so different from his later stuff.

Years ago I was stuck on a tricky JS bug, I Googled it and ended up on a decent answer on StackOverflow. I implemented it, and it worked! I went back to SO and upvoted the answer, and it said "You can't upvote your own answer" Huh!??? Yes, it was my own answer from years back. Thanks, me!

Glad I left a trace.

Oh wow, I hadn't seen inuxdaw.org - similar concept. Next plan is a weekly (automated) newsletter for the latest plugins. But really just to keep it growing and keep feeding it. I actually love browsing plugin sites, so I built a chrome extension that can automatically add a plugin from a page I'm on. I have to choose the image and videos though.

I recently built a physics-driven auto-panner based on PONG, so I can also play PONG inside my DAW. https://portwaydsp.com

I also built https://plugins.audio - a Dribbble-esque showcase of audio plugins.

It's been a dream to be able to work in the audio software space. I've been a musician, designer, coder all my life, and had a few moonlights with building audio plugins over the years. But now with AI at hand, I can use it to fill that missing technical requirement while still retaining my domain expertise (music/design).
