I’m always suspicious of browser extensions, and also websites with Russian country codes.

Yep. They came up with the solutions I would have suggested! (CMD + F1, internal/external monitor craziness, Caps Lock key as your power indicator.)

Probably the battery isn’t that great because it’s old — I’d be curious what mAh it’s still holding. Also wondering if that display is being connected and somehow drawing power from the computer (although I wouldn’t think it should if it’s turned off).

I get phone calls for a guy named Randy about his business. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to make the phone calls stop.

The simplest solution is to change my phone number. But

a) why should I have to? it’s my number, dammit!

b) how many accounts have 2FA? if I changed my number, what if I miss updating one that’s important?

c) it could happen again

If I change my number, however, that is the simplest way to solve the problem. It’s just, do I want to?

Correlation is not causation.

In other words: the side effect of making more money is that you have more money to spend on your children’s education.

Where I’m from, the person who sneezes often says nothing, unless they’re accidentally sneezing near someone else. Strangers nearby however will say “bless you!” or occasionally “gesundheit!” But yes, I think people who utter the words do so as a quick reaction without much forethought.

There were (and still are?) bathroom reader books.

My parents leave copies of The New Yorker, Newsweek, and Nat Geo in their bathroom.

The redirect from hackerne.ws works, but I think there’s a certificate that needs updating.
