Oh god, it's so painfully accurate.

Most of my clients over the years have been very successful businesses in industries and niches that I never imagined could support a multi-million dollar enterprise. A lot of the time I was surprised that the entire business model was even a thing.

My point is that just because you find the success of Tailwind Labs surprising does not mean that it "shouldn't" be a multi-million dollar business. Neither you nor I get to decide that.

Given that Safari doesn't even have a built-in ad-blocker, I doubt Apple will be leading the charge on this.

Such a move would also presumably be incompatible with Apple's highly lucrative search engine deal with Google.

I don't disagree, but what a godawful prospect.

Surely the deterrent is the possibility of being caught?

If you're more likely to be caught due to the surveillance, logic would dictate that it's the greater deterrent.

> And with a fully grown adult requesting it to do so with zero care or due diligence.

I'm unclear what you consider reasonable due diligence in this case. Should the protagonist have assumed that the gym API was unauthenticated, and that the agent would discover this?

In which case, fine, return to work, start a new company, start a foundation, whatever. Accepting the aforementioned big fat cheque from Steve Jobs affords you those options.

The advice isn't for Drew Houston, it's written as general advice for anyone.

The point is that different people have different priorities, and retiring in your mid-twenties to enjoy your many millions is a perfectly reasonable choice.

All of your objections have already been addressed by the previous comments.

The original comment states that the person in question already had a suitable graphics card to hand, so it did not require a monetary investment.

GP clearly states that "someone who is into that that stuff" was guiding the process, so it did not require a significant time investment.

> I'm particularly calling out the hypocrisy of the original comment. Being Anti-AI, and then spending hours on setting up a less than frontier AI model.

I see no hypocrisy in the original comment.

You've also assumed the skeptic in question doubts the capabilities of AI. That may be the case (like you, I have no idea), but they may also have privacy concerns, in which case a local model is the appropriate choice.

There are plenty of reasons to be skeptical of AI.

This is a terrible analogy.

It's quite clear that the author means AI writing is now good enough to cause confusion and speculation as to whether a given piece of writing was human-authored.

The confusion and speculation caused by your nude transit adventure is about what the hell you're doing and why.
