That actually signals that the CEO has a legit reason for Mullvad to work really well.

It's really painful to think about all the productivity that is lost on tricking browsers into doing what developers want.

Just imagine where the web would be today if it wasn't necessary to build it with obsolete, counter-intuitive technologies.

I am not a type 3 engineer myself but I too believe it's a matter of mindset. So what you want to do is to help them change their mindset. I have read 2 really, really interesting books on that matter. The first is called 'Mindset' by Carol Dweck and the second one is 'Talent Code' by Daniel Coyle. They are so valuable I believe that from now on we will see a blossoming of talents in the western world never seen before due to such books addressing mindset problems. I hope you take the time to look into them. They will give you hints and advice on how to spark the growth mindset in other people.

I have this chair as well but I am not enthusiastic about it. It's cheap and OK but nothing more. The armrests are not adjustable and the headrest is really a pain.

Do you lower the chair so much that the armrests fit under the table or do you just not sit that close to the table?

I spent more than some time to create a Shopify admin app for Android, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shopify.ad.... It's up and running and generates already some money each month (60$ - 100$). Zero marketing, just Google Play. I wanted the app to be so much better than it is right now but unfortunately Shopify will release their own Android app soon which will render my app useless. It's quite devastating. So I consider this endeavor a failure. Now I am on the lookout for a new project idea. I think I will stay in the ecommerce realm since I like it very much and think it's easier to make money with merchants than with ordinary consumers. In case anyone would like to team up, my email is in my profile ;)

Yeah, lots of technologies out there.

Personally I consider learning a technology as an investment. And with my investments I prefer them to be low risk. That's why I only choose technologies which are definitely going to last a while. Sometimes it's hard to decide if a particular technology will persist. I usually look for support and endorsement of big players in the industry and sufficient user adoption.

Right now I am contemplating using angular.js. I think it would be low risk to learn since it will probably last a while because of Google's involvement and already wide usage.

Other safe options include Twitter Bootstrap, Node.js, Android and jQuery and ?

I would like to read a blog post about what Hacker News considers to be safe options to learn. Anyone interested in writing one?

The problem with webOS of course was not the sdk or anything related to how to build an app for that platform. It was just the lack of interest and relevance which is needed to attract developers.
