But no headlines and no expensive crash investigation.

Say you’re in the car business and you don’t like Tesla and say you want to find people who are suicidal or maybe have some kind of debt and you can help them as long as they help you. Their family will be taken care of as long as they crash their Tesla into a concrete divider.

I’m definitely not saying that’s what happened here but possible to imagine this scenario.

Hey even shorting the stock could make this worth someone’s while.

Yeah but they’re not going to let you know if the NSA or the CIA targets you.

So the message can be read more like: a non-allied state actor has targeted your email and we are notifying you to show how good we are. Please note we will not reveal when you are targeted by an allied state intelligence. Privacy is relative, mostly an illusion. Thank you for your cooperation.

If wired is saying it’s time for a revival it’s probably long overdue

Cue Facebook with the fake victim complex.

I respect their level of propaganda skill how they are trying to shape the narrative into that they have been victimized, are fully justified and are not actually at fault.

What impresses me most is how homogenously fanatically unified their culture is.

It’s said a cult is that which can only survive by cutting itself off from reality.

What scares me is that people who are so fanatical about their mission and Corp are responsible for so much real human outcomes... The best lack all conviction the worst are full of passionate intensity.

It is true some can always choose but maybe not everybody can, because people react differently to drugs and alcohol. Psychics can already read minds better than existing primitive devices. But AFAICT the gov does not employ them, at least not at scale, so don’t worry. I don’t believe actual mind reading device will ever exist, the closest will be like a synthetic / robotic AI brain with the same abilities as human psychic. Meaning it’s a synthetic AI not “device“ that you completely control. So if you want to read minds without people’s consent you better use psychics or torture.

I have bowed to your pressure. I think becoming temporarily disabled by this color scheme is over exaggerated but hey here’s the new one that should be easier for you to process.

OK so if privacy is not a real concern can I please have access to all the data in LinkedIn? Because if individual privacy doesn’t matter why should company privacy matter either so can I please have all your data LinkedIn?

If you say no because you want to protect the privacy of your users you’re contradicting yourself and if you say no because you want to protect the privacy of your company information which makes you money you’re contradicting yourself. Either way I think it’s pretty clear that this statement is just a hypocrisy designed to support the business activity of getting people to give over information for free to other people who can make money from that information.

If the mind extends beyond our heads and into the devices we carry around and therefore into the cloud what about privacy?

It seems the distinction still remains between Inga and Otto in other words between the mind in our heads and the mind in our devices because for what’s in our heads we can always choose whether we want to tell others or not but for our devices even if we set our privacy settings we lose control of choice over who to share that information with as soon as we tell the cloud about it

Completely agree. Even the simple act of noticing people rather than ignoring as if they’re not entities is so important. Dont feel bad about looking at people who are different if you see someone disabled just look at them. that’s very human. In The good way.

Have some empathy. This person has been like this for far longer then you just walking by them. They’re so into how they are they got over the embarrassment of being themselves along time ago. You presuming they be embarrassed to be seen is putting onto them some feeling you don’t know they have. You’re probably just projecting your own embarrassment. But just look at them.

If you need another reason consider that after the second world war men who were really messed up physically simply would never go outside. They didn’t want to be seen. If someone’s outside don’t assume they too embarrassed to be seen. Don’t feel bad about looking just look.

Also, vagus nerve can be stimulated by anal penetration. Some people might also recognize the feeling of having a very relaxing poo.
