This is what I switched to as well, works nicely. Can have just a folder as a backend as well, which makes things pretty simple.

Yeah, I would have gone with uuid.V4 or something. But oh well, as long as it works. :D

I really liked Zed for a couple of months, when AI tab code completion was the frontier. But now I don’t hand-edit files anymore, so Zed is mostly a fast file reader for me.

I understand why a team focused on an editor would do this, because they have to figure out where to fit into this new world. I guess I’m mostly looking for a product now that lets me review large amounts of code easily, add comments, and interact with many agents working on the same codebase in worktrees (or similar) at once. I’m unsure whether this would be something like that?

Uh, nice! I hadn't heard about that spec before. I'll give the skill a try.

Please at least pretend to read the article before posting something like that.

Hi, I'm the author of GAI. I'm glad that you are happy with it! I'm using it a lot myself, both for own and client projects, but I wasn't sure if anyone else was. :D

I'm actually trying to build it out in a way so that gateways aren't necessarily necessary. Cost and token tracking happen through OpenTelemetry. Fallbacks and retries are handled through the new “robust” package, and I have other plans as well. You're always welcome to file issues in the repo for things you'd like to see but aren't there yet. :-)
