I must apologize, this really came across as an accusation. I meant to say that, upon his announcement, I imagined there would be many 1-weekend slop clones. I have not looked at slughorn, but I really think this is cool, and I appreciate competent people working on cool problems. I'll keep an eye on this! Will be more careful with how I express myself, sorry! :)

I knew the second Eric posted about releasing Slug to the public domain we'd get 100s of "OpenSlug" slopped-up. Will be interesting to see which implementation will win or if Slug will keep being a thing.

I often get notifications to play LinkedIn games, Zip or whatever. The games are very trivial and on a timer, where you end up on some kind of network leaderboard. I never play them party because they're boring, but also, I'm utterly scared that they use them as a intelligence signal in recruiting or selling it to 3rd party ATSs. There are so many companies hungry for arbitrary "smartness" indicators, this wouldn't even chock me.

Wow haha, that is a lot of authors! Never seen this before!

What about power draw? Maybe that doesn't count as a side channel (I'm not a security guy). Afaik, CMOS transistors mostly draw power on switching state, so a normal adder adding 0+0 or 1+1 is visible in the power draw.

I googled a bit and found Sense Amplifier-Based Logic (SABL). Super interesting :^)

I haven't seen this before, but this ReCAPTCHA required "mobile verification" from me, and asked me to download an app. Oh what a world we live in...

I find this very interesting. I have implemented AO myself and understood that its physically inaccurate (it should really be radiosity presence, not ambient occlusion), but have believed the results to look realistic. Or rather; better than flatly lit, which makes geometry hard to understand.

Thank you for these photographs! It would be awesome to have a CG benchmark like this (geometry + light properties) that we could compare to. I'm sure this exists already but. Very neat!

Nice results, I will keep a watch on this! Would be interesting to see benchmarks vs Oodle compression, I think the most similar one is Selkie?

Apologies: I had to editorialize the title to make it fit. :^)

I was under the impression that "individual engineers ..." is basically implied always, if not just outright lies, I don't trust these listings very highly. Except when its clear that the companies are actually customers. Like; how do I even add my company to this list? Email them?

Would be interested in others take on this. Personally, I wonder:

- By rolling the paper, will it really stay flat after printing? - How easy / cheap will sourcing ink be?

I might suck but I found it really hard iirc :^(
